Mid Term Exam today went very well. I just finished grading, and I was not surprised to see students all had done a great job. I am so proud of you! 3A students!
We reviewed lesson one, lesson two, and learned how to write new characters of lesson three for the 1st session. We had Mid Term Exam at 2nd session.
We didn't have time to do the speaking test. Students will do it with their partners at the 1st session next week.

Dear 3A parents and students,
I let students practice taking mid-term exam today so they will not feel panic next Saturday when they see the real test paper.
The mid-term exam contains listening, writing, and speaking.
1. Listening and writing are in the test paper.
(Please see email attached files for my voice recording for listening questions and today’s practice test paper. Please note, it’s the practice test, not the content of next week’s real mid-term, but very similar.)
2. Fill in the name of the family tree member.
(Every student took home a copy of textbook’s family tree.
I will wipe out few members’ names, and students will need to fill in the correct answers, so please study the paper at home.)
3. Speaking: Students need to do the presentation by reading textbook page 21.
(Please be careful with tones.)

Next week’s Mid-term paper is very similar to today’s practice test paper. There are only few words different. I do believe the purpose of any test is to boost student’s confidence, not making them feel frustrated.
Please have students study:
1. Today’s test paper, make sure they know how to write the Chinese Characters and pinyin for some questions.
2. Family tree, remember family members and know how to write the Chinese Characters and pinyin.
3. Read their conversation part on textbook page 21.
We started lesson 3 today. It will not be in the mid-term.

海靈 is the only one who always found people to practice speaking and had them signed her paper during recess time. Student who gets 30 people's signature will earn a special prize. I am so amazed that many students had accompolished their homework from last week! There were 4 writing sheets, 4 workbook pages! I knew it's not easy to finish all, but they did it! Big, big bravo for them!
I don't like to give too many homework, but it's neccesary for students to be able to recongnise new vocabularies and grammar. Today's class went smoothly, and students were very enthusiastic to answer all my questions. All their effors of doing homework had paid off!
I am so very grateful for parents' suppport and understanding, and grateful for students' hard work.
