Dear 3AB parents and students,

We continued learning lesson one today.

We reviewed new phrases and learned the following new grammar,

1 就是jiù shì：It is (emphasize)

Ex: (Traditional) 爸爸的爸爸，就是我的爺爺。

      (Simplified)  爸爸的爸爸，就是我的爷爷。

2. 都是dōu shì：both are / all are

Ex: (T) 爸爸和伯伯，都是爺爺的兒子。

      (S) 爸爸和伯伯，都是爷爷的儿子。

3. 是…, 也是…。Shì…, yě shì…. 。：is…, also is..。

Ex: (T) 我是媽媽的女兒，也是外公的外孫女。

      (S) 我是妈妈的女儿，也是外公的外孙女。

4. 大我__歲  大我__ 岁/ 小我__歲小我__岁：
    older than me for __ years/ younger than me for __ years

Ex: (T) 哥哥大我兩歲。/ 我小哥哥兩歲。

      (S) 哥哥大我两岁。/ 我小哥哥两岁。

 Homework: 

 1 Writing：

Chinese name writing sheet.

Students will only write their Chinese names in our class. Remember to write Chinese name on you workbook cover. You can put a sticker on the cover and write your name on it if you don’t want to write on the book cover.

 2. Family tree:

Fill your family tree. Write their names and how you call them.

 3. Workbook:

Page 3 (section 4 and 5), page 4, and page 6.

 Class Notes: 

 1. As a parent myself, I understand how much we want to stay in classroom to make sure our children are paying attention at all time! However, I am sorry to say that it’s the school policy only students are allowed to be in classroom during school hours. Your child is in good hands. I will make sure they participate and pay attention in class.

Yee Ping was a great class helper last year! and I especially requested him to do it again this year for 3AB class. I am very annoying for asking him to turn on and off the power point and the light constantly, to go to office to get books, CDs, help, to move tables, chairs, clean up classroom before and after school, and to fix up irritating things…. It’s a very tiring job, but Yee Ping is so kind and willing to help me out again this year. Thank you so much! Yee Ping!

 3. Thanks to parents who signed up for our class volunteers today! We have all the spaces filled up except 2 class reps. It’s take a huge responsibility to be the class reps, but there is nothing more rewarding than helping our children to learn and grow. Class rep is someone who has the most warming heat and is willing to devote his/her times to ensure our classes go smoothly the whole year round. CCCS is operated 99% by parents’ volunteers. Please help, 3AB need you!
